wynnsfolly: (red pepper)
other than watch it rain this weekend, I did cook a little bit.
One thing that hasn't gotten washed away, or otherwise soaked in the foot or so of rain we've gotten this month is a nice french sorrel. I decided to harvest some for a pork roast. Cleaned out a little bit of everything in the fridge and the herb bed.
Leek, green onions, garlic, celery, onion, spinach, sorrel, cumin, fresh oregano, thyme, chopped and slipped into pockets of the roast seasoned with seasoning salt and balsamic vinegar, roasted on a bed of chunks of sweet & white potatoes.
Also attempted to salvage some cheap sausage in meatloaf with the remainder of the aromatics along with celery, soy sauce & fresh sage.
